UKGC issues over £7.5 million in fines during 2025

In 2025, the UK Gambling Commission imposed fines totaling £7,516,520 across 11 operators. Violations ranged from breaches of technical standards to anti‑money laundering failures and shortcomings in player protection.

Spreadex Limited received the largest penalty £2 million—for systemic compliance failures. Other notable fines included £1 million for ProgressPlay and £1.4 million for AG Communications, underscoring that both online and physical operators remain under strict regulatory watch.  

In February, Merkur Slots UK was fined nearly £95,450; Greentube Alderney, a software provider, paid £1 million; Petfre and Maple International were also penalised for technical and social responsibility breaches. The breadth of action highlights the Commission’s determination to uphold standards across all segments of the sector.
