The Jackpot will reach a record amount of €220,000,000 in October 2021! And since the Jackpot amount is capped at €220 million, the winnings in tier 2 are bigger.
For how long is the Jackpot capped?
If there is no Grade 1 winner when the Jackpot reaches its ceiling (€220,000,000) then the Jackpot amount will remain capped for the next four draws.
If by the fifth draw there is still no winner in rank 1, then the Jackpot will be shared between the winners in rank 2 or in the next rank up with at least one winner. This system is called “Roll Down”.
Once the record jackpot of € 220,000,000 is won, the maximum for the next cycle is set to € 230,000,000, then € 240,000,000, and up to € 250,000,000!
The rules of the game, which were laid down by all participating lotteries and included in the Royal Decree of 1 April 2016, stipulate that the amount of the Jackpot must be capped. Currently, the ceiling is set at €220 million.
